Welcome to Jigawa State ministry of Environment. The ministry is a government agency responsible for protecting and preserving the natural environment in Jigawa State, Nigeria. The ministry is responsible for implementing policies and programs related to environmental conservation,pollution control, and sustainable development.
The Ministry
The Ministry of Environment consists of six departments with two agencies. Prior to inception of the present administration in May, 2007, there were three ministries related to Environment in Jigawa State. These are;
- minstry of gum arabic and art fact
- ministry of shelterbelt and erosion control
- ministry of flood and erosion control
However in September, 2007 these three ministries were merged and called Ministry of Environment. It was established to carry out the following functions.
